Air Battles Over The Far East
Mosquitoe Fighter Bombers of No 45 Sqn attacking a forward Japanese Airfield during the war in Burma.
Mosquitoes Of No 45 Sqd RAF carry out a low level attack on a forward Japanese airfield in Burma , achieving total surprise! The last of the flight are just being engaged by ground fire before making their escape. Operations with these aircraft were held up during 1944 until September due to structural failures partly caused by the severe climate conditions after which the squadron fought on until the Japanese were in retreat in May 1945, when they returned to India.
