At Stone Railway Station, a Johnson 3F loco, 0-6-0, number 3410, steams ahead northbound, in 1947.
The station at Stone was designed by the architect H. A. Hunt, and was built in 1848, in sandstone, it looks formidable with the old Bents Brewery in the background. The station stands at the junction of the Norton Bridge and Colwich lines.
Over the years the buildings fell into a state of disrepair, however renovation and restoration work was carried out and completed in 2004. The station building is now used as a community centre, and often hosts artists exhibitions, and other functions.
